			Meatballs
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/3 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped (plus more for garnish)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Honey Garlic Sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons liquid honey
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch (or flour)
- 2 tablespoons water
- sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, green onions, egg, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated to ensure flavorful and tender meatballs.
- Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into approximately 15 evenly sized meatballs to ensure consistent cooking. Place them on a plate or tray, ready for cooking.
- Cook the Meatballs: Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, liquid honey, and minced garlic. In another small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
- Simmer the Sauce: Pour the honey garlic mixture into the skillet used for the meatballs and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Coat Meatballs with Sauce: Return the cooked meatballs to the skillet and gently toss them in the sticky honey garlic sauce until each meatball is well coated and heated through.
- Garnish and Serve: Transfer the glazed meatballs to a serving dish, garnish with additional chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately while warm, perfect alongside rice or vegetables.
