This Sticky Ginger Soy Glazed Chicken recipe is a savory and slightly sweet dish that’s perfect for a delicious dinner. Tender chicken thighs are marinated in a flavorful blend of soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger, then cooked to perfection in a sticky glaze.


Ingredients

Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • Freshly cracked pepper
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil

Chicken:

  • 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 1.75 lbs total)
  • 1/2 Tbsp cooking oil

Garnishes (optional):

  • 2 green onions
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, pepper, and cooking oil. Marinate chicken in this mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet, cook chicken until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
  3. Make the Glaze: Pour leftover marinade into skillet, boil to reduce to a thick glaze. Add chicken back to skillet and coat with glaze. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • It is safe to cook used marinades as long as they come to a full boil, according to FDA guidelines.
  • If concerned about safety, double the marinade and use half for cooking the chicken.
