- 1 tablespoon steak seasoning
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 small red onion, sliced
- 1 cup water
Slider Assembly
- 12 brioche slider buns
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon minced dried onion
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 8-12 slices gouda cheese
- Crispy fried onions for topping
- Pickle slices for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the brisket: Place the brisket in your slow cooker. Top it evenly with steak seasoning, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic salt, and BBQ sauce. Add sliced red onions and pour in one cup of water to keep it moist.
- Slow cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook the brisket on low for 8 hours until it is tender and shreddable.
- Shred the brisket: Remove the brisket and onions from the slow cooker and shred them thoroughly, mixing the tender meat with the cooked onions for flavor.
- Prepare for baking: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a 9×13 baking dish, place the bottom halves of the slider buns. Layer half the gouda cheese slices evenly over the buns.
- Assemble sliders: Pile the shredded brisket mixture on top of the cheese layer, then sprinkle crispy fried onions over the meat. Optionally, add pickle slices over the onions. Add the remaining gouda cheese slices on top, then place the top halves of the slider buns to complete each slider.
- Make onion butter: In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and stir in the minced dried onion and dried parsley until combined.
- Brush sliders: Generously brush the onion butter mixture over the tops of the slider buns to add flavor and help them brown during baking.
- Bake: Place the assembled sliders in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the tops of the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve the brisket sliders warm for a delicious party or family meal.
