Description

Pepperoni Pizza Caesar Wraps combine the delicious flavors of pizza and Caesar salad into a convenient and tasty wrap. Flour tortillas are topped with pizza sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni, then filled with crisp romaine lettuce tossed in Caesar dressing, croutons, and Parmesan cheese. These wraps are baked just until the cheese melts, then loaded with salad and wrapped tightly for a quick, satisfying meal perfect for lunch or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Wraps

  • 2 large Flour Tortillas
  • 4 tbsp Pizza Sauce
  • 100g (1 cup) shredded Mozzarella
  • 16 slices of Pepperoni

Salad Filling

  • 1 large head of Romaine Lettuce, chopped
  • 45g (3/4 cup) Croutons, or to preference
  • 30g (1 oz) shaved Parmesan, or to preference
  • 80 - 120ml (1/3 - 1/2 cup) Caesar Dressing, or to preference

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven. Set your oven to 180C (350F) to prepare for baking the wraps.
  2. Prepare pizza wraps. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over each tortilla. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella across the tortillas and arrange the pepperoni slices spaced out on top.
  3. Bake the wraps. Place the tortillas on one or two baking trays and bake in the oven for 4-5 minutes, just until the cheese melts. Avoid overbaking to ensure the tortillas remain easy to roll.
  4. Toss the salad. While the wraps bake, add chopped romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, croutons, and shaved Parmesan to a large bowl. Toss gently until everything is well combined.
  5. Assemble the wraps. Remove the baked tortillas from the oven and add a generous amount of the prepared Caesar salad on top of the melted cheese and pepperoni layer.
  6. Wrap and serve. Tightly roll up each tortilla to enclose the salad. For easier handling, cut the wraps in half and pinch the ends as you eat to prevent the filling from falling out.

Notes

  • Croutons: Store-bought Mediterranean-style herb croutons work well for this recipe. Alternatively, you can make your own croutons as explained in other salad recipes.
  • Caesar Dressing: Store-bought Caesar dressing is used here for convenience, but homemade dressing can be used if preferred.
  • Salad Size: This recipe yields a large amount of salad filling, which can be adjusted to preference. Leftover salad can be served on the side or used for an additional wrap.
  • Calories: Estimated per wrap, assuming about 1/3 cup of Caesar dressing is used.
  • Inspiration: The recipe was inspired by a dish spotted on Grilled Cheese Social.
