Description

Juicy and flavorful, these Mississippi Pot Roast Sliders are a delightful combination of tender pot roast, melted Provolone cheese, and a garlicky, buttery topping. Perfect for a quick meal or party appetizer, these sliders are easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

Units Scale

Slider Assembly

  • 12 slider rolls
  • 1 pound Provolone cheese slices
  • 1 pound leftover Mississippi pot roast
  • 1/2 cup banana pepper rings

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 1/4 cup melted salted butter
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced onion (white or yellow)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan to ensure the sliders don’t stick.
  2. Prepare the Slider Rolls
Using a serrated knife, slice the slider rolls in half lengthwise, creating two slabs (a top and bottom layer). Place the bottom slab in the greased baking pan.
  3. Layer the Ingredients
Begin layering by placing half of the Provolone cheese slices on the bottom slab. Next, evenly spread the leftover Mississippi pot roast on top of the cheese. Sprinkle the banana pepper rings across the meat layer, then add the remaining Provolone cheese on top. Place the top slab of rolls onto the layered meat and cheese.
  4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
In a small mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup melted salted butter, 1 tablespoon finely minced onion, and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Stir until well combined.
  5. Brush and Bake
Using a pastry brush, generously coat the tops of the slider rolls with the garlic butter sauce. Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  6. Finish Baking
Remove the aluminum foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are golden and the cheese is fully melted. Serve the sliders hot from the oven.

Notes

  • These sliders pair amazingly well with leftover pot roast au jus for dipping. If you have any juices from the pot roast left, use them to elevate the dish further.
  • If you don’t already have Mississippi pot roast, you can create a substitute by combining shredded beef with 1 tablespoon of dry ranch seasoning and 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
