Description

This Quick and Easy Maple Pecan Baked Brie appetizer is a warm, gooey cheese delight topped with a sweet and spiced pecan mixture. Perfect for fall and winter gatherings, it combines creamy double cream brie with maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and crunchy pecans, finished with a fragrant herb garnish and ideal served alongside crackers or toasted baguette slices.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese

  • 250-350 g wheel of double cream brie cheese

Topping

  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup pecan halves

Garnish

  • Fresh rosemary or fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare brie: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper. Place the brie wheel on the parchment, then lightly score the top with a diagonal pattern using a sharp knife to help flavors penetrate.
  2. Make pecan topping: In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until combined. Stir in the pecan halves until evenly coated.
  3. Top the brie: Spoon the pecan mixture over the top of the brie, making sure to drizzle any extra maple syrup mixture over the pecans and cheese for maximum flavor infusion.
  4. Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake the brie for 18-22 minutes, or until the cheese starts bubbling and is nearly oozy around the edges.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove from oven, spoon any maple sauce from the baking dish over the baked brie and pecans, then garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme. Serve warm with crackers or toasted baguette slices for dipping.
