For the Hot Cheeto Crumbs:
- 8.5 ounces bag Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Crunchy, crushed into fine crumbs (approximately 3 cups)
For the Coating:
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Egg Wash:
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon water, room temperature
For Assembly:
- 12 (1 ounce) mozzarella string cheese sticks, cut in half
- Olive oil cooking spray
Garnish:
- 1/4–1/2 cup bottled ranch dressing
Instructions
- Prepare the Hot Cheeto Crumbs: Add the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos to a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Transfer to a dish for coating.
- Prepare the Coating: Combine flour and salt in a dish. Set aside.
- Prepare the Egg Wash: Whisk eggs and water in another dish. Set aside.
- Coat the Cheese Sticks: Dip cheese sticks in egg wash, then flour, back in egg wash, and finally in Hot Cheeto crumbs. Freeze for 50 minutes.
- Air Fry the Cheese Sticks: Preheat air fryer, spray cheese sticks with olive oil, and fry in batches until crunchy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
- Serve: Plate the Hot Cheeto Cheese Sticks with ranch dressing for dipping.
