Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
- 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)
Sauce
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 Tbsp water
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season both sides generously with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and optionally blackening seasoning. Set aside to allow the seasoning to penetrate.
- Prepare the Sauce: Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the broiler. In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and add olive oil. Once the butter has melted, add minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook the mixture for about 30 seconds until the sauce is heated through and fragrant.
- Cook the Salmon on the Stovetop: Place the salmon filets skin side down (if they have skin) in the skillet with the sauce. Let them cook for about 3 minutes. During this time, frequently baste the salmon by spooning the sauce from the pan over the top of the filets to infuse flavor.
- Broil the Salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven under the broiler. Broil the salmon for 5 to 6 minutes, basting once more with the sauce halfway through broiling. The salmon should become caramelized and cooked to your desired doneness with a sticky glaze.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with minced fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- This recipe is quick, coming together in just about 20 minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknight dinners.
- The sauce is sticky, sweet, and garlicky, complementing the rich salmon beautifully.
- Adjust the heat level by varying the amount of sriracha according to your spice preference.
- Ensure the oven rack is positioned in the middle to prevent the glaze from burning under the broiler.
- Using an oven-safe skillet allows for seamless transition from stovetop cooking to broiling.
