Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 15 ounces marshmallows (mini or regular sized; about 1 1/2 (10 ounce) bags)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 9 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
Decorations
- 1 cup Halloween M&Ms
- 1/2 cup Halloween sprinkles
- 1 cup candy corn
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with foil and spray it with cooking spray. This will prevent the treats from sticking and make it easier to remove them after they set.
- Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a medium-sized saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter together with the marshmallows. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth.
- Add Vanilla Extract: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract to enhance flavor.
- Mix in Cereal and Candy: Quickly add the Rice Krispies Cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir until the cereal is fully coated. Then fold in the Halloween M&Ms, candy corn, and sprinkles evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Transfer and Press: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Use hands sprayed lightly with cooking spray to press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan. Be cautious as the mixture is hot.
- Cool and Cut: Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature. Once set, cut into 16 squares and serve.
Notes
- Spraying your hands with cooking spray before pressing the mixture helps to prevent sticking and makes it easier to shape the treats.
- You can substitute regular M&Ms and candy corn with other seasonal or themed candies if preferred.
- For easier cutting, chill the treats in the refrigerator for 30 minutes after pressing.
- Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
