Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp

  • 1 pound uncooked extra large (26-30/lb. size) shrimp (thawed & peeled, tails optional)

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) (divided)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: If using frozen shrimp, thaw them under cool running water in a colander. Peel and devein the shrimp if necessary. Have all your ingredients prepped and ready as this recipe cooks quickly.
  2. Melt butter: Heat half of the butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted.
  3. Cook shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1 minute on each side, using tongs to flip them gently.
  4. Add garlic and chili flakes: Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Deglaze with wine: Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and allow it to bubble and reduce for 2 minutes.
  6. Finish the sauce: Stir in the remaining butter, lemon juice, and chopped parsley. Once the butter has melted completely, remove the skillet from heat.
  7. Season and serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
