Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 1 lb Fettuccine Pasta
Sauce
- 6 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 Garlic Clove, minced
- 1 1/2 cups Heavy Cream
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1 1/4 cups Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Italian Parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Boil Pasta: In a large pot, bring heavily salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
- Prepare Sauce Base: In a large skillet or pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Simmer Cream: Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer gently for 5 to 8 minutes. This allows the cream to reduce slightly and thicken the sauce.
- Add Cheese: Add half of the shredded Parmesan cheese to the cream mixture and whisk continuously over heat until the cheese melts completely and the sauce is smooth.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the drained fettuccine into the Alfredo sauce. Add the remaining Parmesan cheese and mix thoroughly. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to thin it out to your desired consistency.
- Garnish and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped Italian parsley, if using, and serve immediately while hot and creamy.
