Description

Cranberry Brie Puff Pastry Bites are a delightful holiday appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry filled with creamy, melty brie and sweet-tart cranberry sauce, garnished with fresh rosemary or orange zest for an extra burst of flavor. Perfect for entertaining, these bite-sized treats are easy to prepare and impress your guests with their elegant look and harmonious taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Puff Pastry

  • 1 (13.2 oz) package puff pastry, thawed

Filling

  • 4 oz (half of one wheel) brie cheese, diced into bite-size cubes
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce

Garnish

  • Fresh rosemary or orange zest, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it is ready for baking the puff pastry bites.
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry Squares: Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a clean surface or parchment paper. Using a pizza cutter, slice the pastry into 4 long strips and then cut into approximately 2.5×2.5 inch squares, making about 20 squares in total.
  3. Line Muffin Pan: Spray a mini muffin pan with cooking spray. Gently press each puff pastry square into the muffin holes, forming a little pastry cup or frame.
  4. Add Filling: Cut the brie cheese into 20 bite-sized pieces that will fit inside the pastry cups. Place one brie cube into each puff pastry cup, then top each with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
  5. Bake: Place the muffin pan in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown and the brie is melted.
  6. Cool and Garnish: Let the bites cool in the pan for about 5 minutes. Carefully remove them while the brie is still warm and melty. Garnish with fresh rosemary or a sprinkle of orange zest as desired before serving.

Notes

  • These Cranberry Brie Puff Pastry Bites make an ideal one-bite holiday appetizer with a wonderful combination of creamy cheese, tart cranberry sauce, and flaky pastry.
  • For best results, serve them warm so the brie remains melty and delicious.
  • You can use homemade or store-bought cranberry sauce depending on your preference.
  • Garnishing with rosemary adds an aromatic touch, while orange zest brings a bright citrus note.
