Description

A hearty and comforting slow cooker chili mac recipe that is easy to make and perfect for feeding a crowd. This dish combines the flavors of chili with pasta for a delicious one-pot meal.


Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (550g) very lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Chili Base:

  • 1 (30 oz) can chili beans in chili sauce or 2 (1516 oz) cans chili beans in chili sauce
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth

Seasonings:

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Additional:

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • Desired toppings: cheddar, sour cream, green onions, corn chips

Instructions

  1. Brown the Ground Beef: Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain the grease. Add to the slow cooker.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Stir in the chopped onions, minced garlic, chili beans, crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours.
  4. Add Pasta: In the last 15 minutes of cooking, stir in the uncooked macaroni. Cover and allow the pasta to cook until tender.
  5. Serve: Serve the chili mac hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • If you prefer, you can skip browning the beef separately by adding it directly to the slow cooker.
