Beef
- 1 lb / 500 g Ground Beef (10-12% fat)
- 1/2 cup / 125 ml Beef Stock
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Cornstarch / Cornflour
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- Olive Oil, as needed
Wraps
- 4 large Flour Tortillas, warmed
- 8 single rashers of Bacon, cooked to preference
- 8 slices of American / Burger Cheese
- 1/4 cup Lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium Tomato, diced
- 1/2 medium White Onion, finely diced
- 4 tbsp Diced Pickles
- 4 tbsp Burger Sauce
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil or leftover bacon fat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until almost browned throughout, then drain excess fat if needed.
- Add Seasonings and Liquid: Stir in 1/2 teaspoon salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Continue cooking until beef is browned. Add beef stock mixed with cornstarch and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the liquid thickens and absorbs into the beef, keeping it juicy.
- Prepare the Wraps: Lay a warm tortilla flat on a surface. Spread shredded lettuce in the bottom center of the tortilla.
- Add Vegetables and Sauce: Top the lettuce with diced pickles, chopped onion, diced tomato, and a drizzle of burger sauce.
- Assemble: Place two rashers of bacon on top, followed by a portion of the cooked beef, then layer with two slices of cheese.
- Roll the Wrap: Fold the bottom of the tortilla over the fillings, then fold in the sides tightly. Roll up to enclose the ingredients securely.
- Optional Grilling: For extra crispiness, place the wraps seam-side-down in a hot griddle or skillet and cook until charred and crispy, pressing gently. Make sure to add a small amount of cheese at the seam to help seal the wrap.
Notes
- Salad – This recipe can be turned into a salad bowl by skipping the tortillas and serving the fillings mixed together.
- Warmed Tortillas – Microwave the tortillas for about 10 seconds to soften, which makes rolling easier and reduces tearing.
- Calories – Approximately 650 calories per wrap, based on using lean beef and standard cheese.
