Description

Indulge in the sweet and creamy flavors of a Banana Latte, a delightful twist on a classic coffee drink. Made with homemade banana simple syrup, espresso, and oat milk, this refreshing beverage is perfect for a relaxing morning or afternoon pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Banana Simple Syrup

  • 2 Ripe Bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg (optional)
  • Pinch of Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste or extract

Banana Latte

  • Double Shot of Espresso
  • 1 tablespoon Banana Simple Syrup (or to preference)
  • 1/2 cup Oat Milk or other non-dairy milk
  • Ice Cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare Banana Simple Syrup: In a small pan, combine mashed bananas, brown sugar, water, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then simmer until sugar dissolves, about 10 minutes. Strain the mixture, add vanilla, and let it cool.
  2. Assemble Banana Latte: Pour syrup into a glass, add ice, pour in milk. Brew espresso and pour over milk. Stir well and adjust sweetness with more syrup if desired. Enjoy!
  3. For Hot Latte: Froth and steam the milk, omit the ice.

Notes

  • This syrup recipe yields about 1 ½ cups.
  • Cool syrup to room temperature for iced drinks. Can be used in hot drinks immediately, but cooling prevents crystalizing.
