Sliders
- 12 soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls
- 1/2 cup thousand island dressing
- 1/2 lb corned beef or pastrami, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb Swiss cheese, sliced
- 1 lb sauerkraut, drained
Topping
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.
- Slice Rolls: Carefully slice the soft dinner rolls in half horizontally, keeping both the bottoms attached together as one piece and the tops attached together as another, to create slider layers.
- Assemble Bottom Layer: Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish. Spread half of the thousand island dressing evenly over the bottom rolls for moisture and flavor.
- Add Fillings: Layer the thinly sliced corned beef or pastrami on top of the dressing, followed by the drained sauerkraut, and then a layer of sliced Swiss cheese to ensure a melty, tangy finish.
- Top Layer and Dressing: Spread the remaining thousand island dressing on the inside of the top half of the rolls. Carefully place these rolled tops on top of the Swiss cheese layer, pressing gently to secure the sliders.
- Prepare Topping and Brush: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, poppy seeds, dried minced onion, caraway seeds, and salt. Brush this savory mixture generously over the top of the rolls to add flavor and help achieve a golden crust.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for another 5 minutes or until the tops of the sliders are lightly golden and crisp.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm. Enjoy these delicious baked Reuben sliders as a satisfying appetizer or meal.
