Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Meat:

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey (85% lean, 15% fat)
  • Spices & Seasonings:

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 390°F for optimal cooking results. Starting with a preheated air fryer helps cook the patties evenly and achieves the perfect texture.
  2. Combine and shape the mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey with all the spices, seasonings, and maple syrup. Mix until the ingredients are evenly incorporated. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions, roll into balls, and then flatten them into thin patties. Be sure to press them down well since they will puff up as they cook.
  3. Cook the patties
Arrange the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each for even airflow. Cook for 5 minutes, then flip them over and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Leaning healthier: For an even leaner version, opt for 93% lean ground turkey. However, the 85% lean option ensures the patties remain juicy and flavorful.
  • Custom spices: Feel free to adjust the spice mix to your preference. For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
  • Freezing option: Make a big batch of the patties, freeze them flat, and store them in a freezer bag. Reheat in the air fryer for a quick breakfast solution.
  • Topping Ideas: Pair these sausages with eggs, toast, or your favorite veggies for a balanced breakfast.
