Description

This 30-Minute Beef and Noodles recipe is a comforting, creamy dish featuring ground beef, tender egg noodles, and a rich, cheesy sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, it combines simple ingredients to create a hearty meal that satisfies the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

Noodles and Sauce

  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 16 ounces beef or chicken broth, plus more if needed
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: Add the ground beef, minced onion, and minced garlic to a large skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through. This should take about 7-10 minutes.
  2. Drain Grease: Carefully drain the excess grease from the skillet to reduce fat content and prevent a greasy sauce.
  3. Add Noodles and Liquids: Stir in the egg noodles, broth, and heavy cream to the skillet mixture. Mix well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Simmer Covered: Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat, or until the noodles are tender, stirring occasionally to avoid sticking. If the noodles are still not tender after 10 minutes, add more broth as needed and continue cooking.
  5. Melt the Cheese: Remove the lid and add the shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is creamy and well blended.

Notes

  • If the noodles are not tender after 10 minutes of cooking, add additional broth a little at a time and continue cooking until desired tenderness is achieved.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with 1% or 2% milk to reduce fat content.
  • Be sure to stir occasionally during cooking to prevent noodles from sticking to the pan.
